Anton and I have pretty much started every morning off the same, sleep in as long as we can. Head on down to the free breakfast at the hotel and woof down a bunch of waffles. The stage today didn’t start until 2 in the afternoon so we had a bit of time to kill not needing to go to the start until Noon. We picked the other two guys from their host housing and headed to the start which was 10mins down the road.

The Task in front of us was 176 km with 5,000 meters of evaluation. It took about 35 minutes before the days breakaway of four riders got away, only really notable was the Mexican National road Champ from Jelly Belly. 5 Hour Energy had control of the breakaway the whole race.

The finish was a crazy new experience. Imagine a four lane highway and the field spread across with ten teams with lead out trains. Trying to take control of the field for their sprinter cause the road went from the four lane highway to a single lane back road to the finish. Ohh did I mention that in the final KM there was three short punchy hills with false flat In between them and a hill sprint to the finish. With 5Hour Energy losing the GC lead it will sure make for very exciting and hard race for tomorrow.

Anton finished 24th today on the stage.
