Norco has been Canada’s largest company for mountain and general purpose bikes for the longest time. They are now taking all their experience from this segment of the industry and hitting the road with some awesome road bikes!

Their newest offering, the Tactic isn’t a bike to tour around the back roads. Speed is the name of the game here and the Tactic’s out-and-out stiffness makes for a flex free and brutally efficient machine. As a result of the stiffness the rider loses some comfort but is still efficient at gliding over the gravel and less then well maintained roads. One of the best offerings from Norco’s Tactic is the availability of this technology to different budget minded individuals. The Tactic is offered at seven different price points great for any kind of budget; from the professional rider to the weekend warriors.

In addition to Norco’s new offering, add Shimano’s Dura-Ace 9000 groupo. As buyers have come to expect from this category of drive train, the shifting is ultra smooth. New for this season is the availability of an 11 speed cassette for the rear end. I found the addition of an extra ring gave me the ability to cover all types of terrains. Combining this superior drive train with Shimano’s smooth rolling and ultra light C50 rims; I believe it will give Jetfuel a slight advantage over are competitors.

As always, technology can only carrier you so far, and it really comes down to the rubber that keeps you moving forward. The type of tire is always key to a successful race. This season, Jetfuel has turned to Continental’s 25mm Gator Skins for their training needs and it’s 25mm Competition tubular when it’s time for Jetfuel to punish the completion on the road. As with any top rider, I’m looking for a well balanced tyre that provides a combination of good grip, longevity and reliability to carrier me through varying road surfaces and hard corning. Continental’s long successful history in bike racing gives me the confidence to take my tyres to edge and know they will be there to keep me up right.

I would like to give a big thanks to JetFuel Coffee, Norco Bicycles, Shimano, Giro, Continental tires, and all of our other sponsor for their help this season.
